Overview

SynapSoft 6.0 is a unique Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tool which focuses on providing real ROI for our customers. SynapSoft 6.0 expands the SynapSense Data Center Optimization Platform to deliver unprecedented levels of operational efficiency and energy savings. In addition to providing significant enhancements to SynapSense Environmental Monitoring and Active Control™, SynapSoft 6.0 supports the latest Power Suite products, P3 SmartPlug™ and SmartLink™, which enable customers to optimize loads, reduce stranded power and identify available power in real-time. P3 SmartPlug™ and SmartLink also offer unique visibility to both power and cooling for optimal server placement. With these two additions, the SynapSense Power suite now provides customers the ability to measure power to the server, the rack, the PDU and across multiple rooms for real-time PUE.

Power Suite

PowerImaging: The Convergence of Power and Cooling

  • Intuitive visualization of rack-level power data (U space, power, current) with cooling capacity for optimal server placement

Graphical Rack Details

  • Consolidated graphical rack display (power, capacity & environmentals) for branch circuit monitoring and rack-level monitoring on same screen

Power Alerts

  • Rack-level alerts indicate phase imbalance or maximum threshold violations to support increased resiliency in the data center and enable load and phase balancing

SmartLink™ is vendor agnostic

  • SmartLink captures data from multiple RPDUs in a mixed environment and eliminates the need for an IP drop and configuration enabling customers to cost-effectively leverage their RPDU investment with complete visibility

Environmental Monitoring

  • Improved graphical interfaces and reporting features for increased business intelligence, including LiveImaging™ annotations 
  • New Optimization Filter enables customers to zero in on a select set of data (e.g. racks >79°) to improve operations and enable faster decision making 
  • Enabled offline reporting: ETL (extract transform and load) enables the extraction of data for improved reporting capability, including report scheduling in any format 

Active Control 

  • The number of data points collected has increased from 1M per day to 1M per 5 minutes for enhanced data center fine-tuning and control

SynapSoft™ 6.0 consists of three basic components; the SynapSense Wireless Network, the Console Application, and a browser-based User Interface. This system is a secure non-intrusive wireless system which does not require IP addresses or powered input for the sensor network and does not interfere with 802.11 WiFi networks.
