TINLEY PARK, IL (May 26, 2015) – Panduit Corp., the leading global provider of integrated data center solutions and next-generation data center infrastructure management (DCIM), and CyrusOne, a leading provider of state-of-the-art enterprise data center solutions for the Fortune 1000, today announced their application of the SynapSense Cooling Optimization solution with wireless monitoring in CyrusOne’s Austin, Texas, data centers. Deployment of the technology is expected to enhance operational transparency in operating conditions for CyrusOne customers while achieving increased operational efficiency through saving significant energy costs.
“CyrusOne provides key temperature data to our customers, and we believe operational transparency drives efficiency for both the customer and CyrusOne,” said Amanda Souarez, Vice President of Data Center Systems. “We have a customer-centered engineering approach that drives the design and implementation of our solutions. The Panduit SynapSense Cooling Optimization solution is an excellent example of this approach and enables us to provide agile, transparent, and customer-centered engineering with exceptional results.”
“CyrusOne is laser-focused on providing their customers the latest data center technologies and services to realize exceptional operational efficiencies with transparency for customers,” said Khaled Nassoura, Vice President of Panduit Data Center business. “We are proud to support these important initiatives and will continue to partner to deliver innovative solutions to improve visibility, resiliency, and energy savings for CyrusOne.”
The deployment of the SynapSense Cooling Optimization solution by Panduit is completed in three phases. In the first phase, the wireless environmental monitoring is deployed. Next, Panduit Services, together with the CyrusOne team, uses Panduit advanced tools and metrics to optimize data center cooling and “balance” the airflow. In the final phase, the Active Control™ feature of SynapSoft™ Software automatically maintains efficient and cost-effective operating conditions by dynamically matching cooling to the varying equipment loads and conditions in the data center. As a result, operational reliability is enhanced while saving on energy costs is maximized.
Panduit acquired SynapSense Corporation in May 2014 and is now incorporated within the Panduit Smartzone portfolio of products. Panduit has been recognized as a “visionary” in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for DCIM Tools¹ and was recently included among seven vendors in the Gartner Critical Capabilities for Data Center Infrastructure Management Tools², which helps IT and data center leadership determine which DCIM offering best fits their needs by providing a comparative analysis that scores DCIM vendors in the most significant usage scenarios in the market, including colocation.
